^{Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Danielle, and I am an amateur photographer and a phenomenal writer, though I will only be posting pictures on this account. The written word is so easily stolen, spoken words for that matter...Mmm, photography, well, I love expressive and emotive photography, and bold colors, artistic nudes, portraits, abstracts, architecture, etc. I'm crazy about people in pictures, skin is just hypnotizing to me. Portraits, poses, proclivities and the like. I have a big "thing" for tattoos. I see one and my shutters clamor. What better way to compose color and flesh in the same brilliant living moment? I really enjoy browsing work on this site, you'll notice my less than humble list of "Favs." If yours is in there, you need to feel pretty important, that wasn't easy. And of course I like seeing mine in the old "Fav Gallery" now and again too. Your gallery, that is.

And it must be said, PLEASE DO NOT USE MY PHOTOGRAPHS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. THIS IS NOT A STOCK ACCOUNT. MKAY?

I call my camera, affectionately, Encarnacion. I tend to name important yet inanimate objects and refer to them as such. I have several cameras of course, but the Canon is BOSS.

If you haven't caught onto this I don't post in my journal, only ever update this one entry. This is simply here for the curious. However, I do post little updates at the very bottom of my journal entry, they might interest you. Feel free to contact me at anytime, I respond to all comments/notes/favorites. You can also read on into my frequently asked questions section, or not...I don't care.

FAQ:

^{Q. What kind of cameras do you use?
A. A Canon, of course. I also have a Diana Plus and a Holga (Sweet little Japanese cameras from the 50's) and a Polaroid.

Q. Who exactly is taking the pictures of YOU, if you're the one in them?
A. I take ALL my own photographs, down to the last pixel. I either extend my arm if I am near enough, otherwise I give the Ole' 10 Second Auto Timer a work out!

Q. Why the Watermark?
A. I put watermarks on all my things, -(c)Danielle Lorti- to prevent stealing. I can't say for sure if they're great enough to steal, but I do know I have seen theft of less...

Q. Where do you get the captions/descriptions for your photographs?
A. Unless it's in quotes, music notes, or says someone else's name next to it, I wrote it. I am a writer, you know.

Q. What is your favorite thing to photograph?
A. People, and skin.

Q. Can I use or alter your pictures for my art, blogs, Myspace, etc?
A. Not without my permission, please.

Q. What is your favorite picture in your Gallery right now?
A. Hmm..."BuckSin"

Q. WTF is on your ring finger???
A. That would be my skull ring. I NEVER take it off. You'll see it frequently.

Q. Do you Photoshop any of your pictures?
A. NO...NO...NO. Hah, I am big on leaving a picture natural, I don't use photoshop for any of my work, ever. My photographs=100% Alter-Free (Though I do add borders/watermarks to them.)

Q. Who are your favorite models to use in your photographs?
A. Me by default. Also my horse Bailey, and my Pomeranian dog, Pigeon.

You take interesting photographs, not typical, each one is just a little different than anything else I've seen. It's nice. Sorry I do not comment more, or have better comments when I do. Photography is not really something I am comfortable criticizing - but I know when I enjoy photos.
